My name is Ray and I’m a cord cutting consultant.

I’m not an influencer or fancy tech expert –

I’m just a guy who got sick and tired of paying too much for cable.

Like you, I’d heard about cutting the cord on cable/satellite, but was overwhelmed by the process.

I began my own cord cutting journey with trepidation – and now, my only regret is that I didn’t do it earlier.

My final cable bill was $436.77 – and that doesn’t include what I was paying for Amazon Prime, Hulu, Disney +, YouTube Premium, Audible, Criterion, and Paramount+.

Flash forward to now: I’m paying a total of $226.88 for my new setup of standalone Internet service and YouTube TV, with add-ons. I haven’t had to sacrifice sports or local news, and the interface of my new live streaming service has been intuitive and easy to use.

More importantly, I’m no longer dreading cable’s coming obsolescence or junk fees tacked onto my bill for services I don’t use.

While the process has been rewarding, it wasn’t necessarily easy. There is lots of well-intentioned advice online about cutting the cord: it’s helpful, but only up to a point, because every consumer is different.

Nobody’s TV goals or must-haves are the same.
